Eerder kon je nog lezen hoe Apple mogelijk een verbod opgelegd kon krijgen op de verkoop van de iPad en iPhone in de VS. Maar nu heeft een rechter uitgesproken dat de Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 niet meer verkocht mag worden in de Verenigde Staten. De reden hiervoor is simpel; de Galaxy Tab lijkt teveel op de Apple iPad.
Samsung is het natuurlijk niet eens met deze uitspraak van de rechter en heeft dan ook bezwaar gemaakt. Het gaat ten slotte om een voorlopige uitspraak, dus alles kan nog veranderen omtrent de zaak.
Apple didn’t quite manage to block the US launch of Samsung’s Galaxy S III smartphone — though delays may change that — but today US District Judge Lucy Koh agreed to tentatively stop sales of the company’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet in the US. “While Samsung will certainly suffer lost sales from the issuance of an injunction, the hardship to Apple of having to directly compete with Samsung’s infringing products outweighs Samsung’s harm in light of the previous findings by the Court,” she writes.
